Our
Planet is in peril. Global Climate is changing for worse, largely due
to our actions and lifestyle. We must do what we can to reverse the current
trend in environmental degradation. African Culture and lifestyle is rich
with systems for preserving the environment. Traditionally, Africans live
in balance with the environment. We need to remind ourselves of these
systems and adopt the ones that are practical and will contribute to reversing
Global Climate Change. Thus iCandy Productions in conjunction with GE-Factor
Star Search joins committed institutions, organizations and individuals
around the world in their effort to enhance public awareness of the need
to protect and preserve the delicate balance that sustains our natural
environment.
Our contribution
to this effort is in the form of a Literary, Music Composition and Dance
Competition.
The Programme
The competition is
divided into four categories:
Short Play
Poetry
Music Composition
Dance –
Group
The best of the entries
will be used to create a musical play entitled “The
Earth My Daughter” – The Story of a planet in
peril and what we must do to save it. Using culturally rich imagery and
motifs, the Story will be told from an African Perspective. The objective
is to entertain and educate its audience on environmental concepts.
